Abstract:
The Covid-19 outbreak and the subsequent detection of different strains possed a serious
challenge to the word. This study proposes a mathematical model to analyse the dynamics
of the spread of two different strains of the disease and the effect of awareness in its control.
The method include proving the some basic mathematical properties of the model, analysis
of the disease-free and disease-endemic equilibria of both strains of the virus; stability
analysis and computation of the basic reproduction number

the analytical outcomes. The results obtained show that awareness increases the
vaccination rate and also reduces the basic reproduction number. Recommendation made
include increasing awareness through media and social gatherings will help control the
disease.
